Benefits
STERN TUBE+ is a Teflon-based paste that creates a Teflon layer on the surface of the rubber seal rings and on the mating metal surfaces. It is extremely protecting against wear on bearings and seals. It reduces the risk of leakages and protects against corrosion as well. ABCON provides solutions in the different kinds of seal systems in mineral oil and EAL ( Environmental Acceptable Lubricant) systems.
According to our oil analysis from vessels, ABCON+ additives reduce the metal wear by 50% or more.
Blends Perfectly
STERN TUBE+ blends perfectly with the stern tube oil. The blend produces excellent lubrication, which due to its Teflon content, maintains its lubrication effect on the rubber surface as well as on the metal surfaces even during and after standstill. In case there is saltwater in the lubrication oil, STERN TUBE+ provides a substantial safety margin as Teflon maintains its lubrication properties even in saltwater.
STERN TUBE+ can be blended with all kinds of mineral and synthetic lubrication oil and can be used together with all types of stern tube seal material.
Bio Based Version
The products are also available in Biodegradable oil-based versions with both saturated and unsaturated ester. They all comply with the 2013 EPA VGP requirements as environmentally acceptable. The product is easy to handle and can be applied by the staff onboard the vessel.
