Effectively counter thruster leakage
Thruster leakages occur when they are least expected — and thruster leakage repair can be costly and time-consuming.

By adding one of our ABCON MARINE-THRUSTER Stop Leak additives to the existing system oil, the leakage will be stopped or reduced to an acceptable level in severe cases.

We have products that are compatible with all kinds of thrusters lubricated with either mineral oil or biodegradable oil. They can stop thruster leakages in rotating (Azimuth and Azipod) and tunnel thruster units and controllable pitch propeller systems. Our solutions are compatible for commercial as well as yacht thrusters.

Bio Based Version

• Our products are also available in EAL based versions based on Saturated or Unsaturated Ester. They all comply with the 2013 EPA VGP requirements as environmentally acceptable. For more information about our Bioproducts click here.
• All products are easy to handle and can be applied by the staff onboard the vessel.

Function

• The high content of Teflon and other complex particles produce a barrier on the damaged surface of the seal ring. Works for leakages as well for water ingress. As a result, the leakage is significantly reduced or stopped altogether. In case of sea water in the lube oil, the ABCON products will provide a substantial safety margin as Teflon maintains its lubrication properties even in sea water. Furthermore, the products reduce wear and tear.
• All our THRUSTER Stop Leak products have hydraulic oil as base oil. This means that it is compatible with gear oil and hydraulic oil, and can, therefore, be used on fixed propellers and CPP propeller systems.
